On Thursday the 13th of November in-toto Kitchens rewarded its design studios for exceptional sales performances by hosting a special track day event at the Jonathan Palmer racing circuit in Bedford. Twelve design studios attended the event and celebrated their hard-work.
The group was split into two teams - Team 'Vettel' and Team 'Button’ - with three outstanding cars to play with: The BMW M3 GTP, the Caterham 7 and the Ariel Atom 3. Each car is completely different and each provide their own different challenges. Everyone made a real effort and as the day progressed it transpired the in-toto network does not only have amazing kitchen designers, but also hosts some exceptional driving talent!
Special mention is warranted for David Moore from in-toto Swindon who only the day before starred as a nominee of the K & B Designer Awards in London. On the track he also turned out to be a force to be reckoned with and took home the trophy for the fastest lap time in the Caterham 7 – although he later admitted to having owned one of these beauties! Another winner was Owen Reilly who represented in-toto Guildford and clocked the fastest lap times in both the Ariel Atom and the BMW M3, giving him the well-deserved title of ‘Driver of the Day’!
Luckily for the first-timers, there was a (hastily invented) rule against one driver winning more than one event so the BMW trophy then went to Dave Humphries from in-toto Leamington Spa. Everyone showed real Formula 1 potential and a great day was had by all!
